In daily conversation, the phrases "mass" and "weight" are frequently used interchangeably, but it is important to note that they have different meanings. Weight can be defined as the measurement of how gravity works upon a mass. In contrast, mass is a measure of the amount of matter contained in a material.
The mass of a body can be used to calculate how much matter is contained in it. “m or M” are used to indicate mass.
Weight is a measure of the force that the earth's gravity has on a mass. Weight is typically indicated by W. Weight is expressed as mass multiplied by the gravitational acceleration (g).
So it is interesting to note that, the mass remains constant irrespective of the gravity applied at that place. But the weight of an object changes with the gravitational force acting on it. This is the same reason why the weight of a person is different on both the earth and the moon. But the mass remains constant
The kilogram (kg) is the SI (International System of Units) definition of a unit of mass. A kilogram is a unit of mass that is widely used in research works, engineering projects, and commercial activities across the globe. Its meaning is "1,000 grams."The kilogram is described in terms of the second and the meter, both based on fundamental units, as of the 2019 redefinition of the SI units. This enables a metrology lab with the appropriate equipment to calibrate a mass measuring system, such as a Kibble balance, to determine a precise kilogram mass.
1 \mathrm{~kg} \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}^2 is defined as a newton (a derived unit defined in terms of the SI base units). One newton is thus the force required to accelerate one kilogram of mass at one meter per second squared in the direction of the force applied. The unit "meters per second squared" can be interpreted as a rate of change in velocity per unit of time, thus increasing speed by one metre per second every second.
How many Kilograms are present in 5 newtons weight:
1 N= weight of 0.1 kg mass due to earth's gravitational pull.
That means 0.1 kg mass is present in 1 newtons weight
So by the unitary method, we can say
0.5 kg mass is present in 5 newtons weight
How many Kilograms are present in 20 newtons weight:
1 N= weight of 0.1 kg mass due to earth's gravitational pull.
That means 0.1 kg mass is present in 1 newtons weight
So by the unitary method, we can say
2 kg mass is present in 20 newtons weight
How many Kilograms are present in 100 newtons weight:
1 N= weight of 0.1 kg mass due to earth's gravitational pull.
That means 0.1 kg mass is present in 1 newtons weight
So by the unitary method, we can say
10 kg mass is present in 100 newtons weight
