Hi,
Based on the KVPY website, Agriculture is not mentioned there. So, you can directly mail the KVPY officials to confirm it. You can do basic sciences to get KVPY fellowship. Those subjects are,
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Biochemistry
- Microbiology
- Cell biology
- Ecology
- Molecular biology
- Botany
- Zoology
- Physiology
- Biotechnology
- Neurosciences
- Bioinformatics
- Marine biology
- Geology
- Human biology
- Genetics
- Biomedical sciences
- Applied physics
- Geophysics
- Material science
- Environmental science
You can choose anyone of the subject based on your interest. Related to Agriculture, you can study ecology or Environmental science or Botany. Biotechnology and genetics also provide knowledge about advanced techniques in agriculture. If you gat a seat in Agriculture counseling, take it and do Agriculture. you can get more experience and you can apply for other fellowships also.
Hope it helps.
Iam completed 12th by pcm in this year with unsatisfaction because Didnt know competative exams like Olympiads,KVPY etc.Iam realised today so, Is there any Common Competative exams for Engineering students to Prepare and Right In Engineering life ?
hi,
see there is no good coming thinking about the past. so if you are an engineering student, you would get opportunity to participate in many challenging programs which held by MNCS like accenture, infosys, IBM, microsoft etc. also IITs, nits has yearly tech fest organized where students have to give presentation for innovative projects . so there is lot of things to do and while going through many challenging competition , you have to decide in which way you want to make career, whether you want to do higher study or go for job. Another thing is there is GATE and IES exam which is who competitive exam where engineering students may apply. based on gate score you may get job in PSUS like Indian oil, power grid, ntpc etc , admission to m.tech program in iits, iiits , nits is based on g gate score. IES i.e Indian engineering services exam, based on ies score candidates are recruit as officers for the services to the technical functions/ engineering filed under the Government of India.
There are different modes of admission in iisc Banglore(kvpy, jee main and advanced etc) what is the overall requirement one of them or more and if only when than at what ranks?
Assuming youre a General Category Aspirant, you need a Minimum Rank of 250-300 Varying over Years in JEE Main/Advanced/NEET for securing a seat in IISc Bangalore for BS, which is somewhat too unpredictable and tough. However, you have another stream to a IISc Bangalore, which KVPY, though equally tough, but if prepared effectively and strategically in 2 Chances, KVPY SA/SX, there are chances you secure a seat.
However, if you belong to certain Category, you still have certain Relaxations in Cutoffs with the AIR Eligibility Cutoff of OBC at 5000-6000 in JEE Advanced/Main/NEET UG.

I AM A PCMB STUDENT . I WANT TO KNOW THAT IF IN KVPY SX EXAM I DONT ATTEMPT PHYSICS IN PART 1 AND PART 2 , CAN I STILL GET A COURSE IN PHYSICS IN IISC BANGALORE ?
If you entirely jump the portions of physics then you might get lower ranks as compared to the others which may be dangerous for your dream to study in IISC. So I would recommend you if you have problems with Physics you should try to resolve it. Hypothetically, if you get a chance in IISC Bangalore without attempting Physics then also you will need the basic foundations of Physics in order to sustain your course work at IISC. So you should study physics and try to attempt as much as you can.
I hope you get my point. All the very best for your future endeavors!
Does SVNIT accept kvpy marks/ranks (i secured AIR 879 in kvpy) will i be able to bs-ms course in physics in SVNIT ?
Hello,
No, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat does not accept KVPY score for admission to Integrated Physics course. The admission is solely based on rank secured in JEE Main. The admission in to the institute is done through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA)/ Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) counselling. The seat is allotted based on the rank of the candidate, category of the candidate, preferences of choice, seat availability and cut off rank. You need to qualify in JEE Main to be eligible to apply for the counselling. Here is the previous year qualifying cut off percentile for JEE Main
- General:90.3765335
- OBC-NCL:72.8887969
- EWS:70.2435518
- SC:50.1760245
- ST:39.0696101
- PWD:0.0618524
Cut off changes every year depending on number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of exam and number of seats available etc.
How much rank should I secure in kvpy exam to get into IISc I belong to MBC CASTE
Hi candidate,
MBC category for standard OBC category itself the candidate is able to show income certificate which clearly mentions that his family income is not over 6 lacs per annum from all sources calculated along with a valid OBC certificate.
Coming onto the cutoff for KVPY exams, the cutoff for OBC and BC category and nearly the same.
Hope that this answer helps you.
What is the meaning of additional cutoff percentage which is is written in iiser website through kvpy channel?
It states that students who are coming to get admission through KVPY channel should also have got the board through which students have given board exam and category-wise IISER cutoff. Because many students give KVPY exam while they are studying in 11th nd 12th and they qualify and after that if the don't get the required marks in board exam as given by the IISER officials so they cannot get admission if they don't meet the cutoff according to officials
I will apply for iiser next year. will they take this year board cut off or next year board cut off ?
Hello,
If you are applying through SCB channel then each year the cut off is specified depending on the number of candidates applied, top score, number of seats available etc.So the cut off published for IISER 2021 admission will be considered regardless of the year(2020 or 2021) you passed in the qualifying exam.
