118 i.e One hundred and Eighteen is the natural number in mathematics followed by the natural number 117. The natural numbers that we have in mathematics are never-ending. As if, there is no such natural existence whose predecessor and successor are not there. Similarly, 118 was followed by 117 and preceded by 119.
The number 118 ends with an even number 8 which means this whole natural number 118, is an even number itself and can be divisible by 2. Numbers which are divisible by 2 hence, are called even numbers.
In mathematics, for every hundredth number likewise 118, factorisation takes place and similarly, the factorisation for the number 118 is 2\times 59, Since we can’t break up 59 into more, the factors for the natural number 118 end up to 2 and 59.
Therefore, the prime factorisation of the number 118= 2\times 59.
The expanded form of the number 118, looks like this:
\\1\times 100+1\times 10+8\times 1
\\=100+10+8
\\=118
118, ended with the even number 8 which is an even number but still, it is not a perfect square. A perfect square is essentially any number (m) that we get from the multiplication of any number (n) by itself (i.e m=n ✕ n ), and there isn't a specific number that multiplies by itself to produce 118. It means that it is not necessary that a number ending with an even number is a perfect square.
Q1- Solve 118+118?
Ans- 118+118= 236
The easiest way to solve this is: 118\times 2= 236.
Q2- What should be multiplied by 118 to get 354?
Ans- Let x be the number multiplied to get 354.
354\div 118=3.
So x=3
Q3- Calculate adding 118, eight times without adding.
Ans- Without adding we can still get the answer for adding 118 eight times, which is 1188= 944.
Q4- Solve: (118 3)+ (118 5)
Ans- To solve this answer in an easier way is not to repeatedly add the same number three times or five times, it is to directly multiply.
Therefore, the answer would be 118 3= 354 and 118 5= 590
So, 354+590= 944.
Q5- The cost of 1 Litre of milk is 118. Calculate the cost of 5L Litre of milk.
Ans- Given, Cost of 1 Litre of Milk= 118
To find: Cost of 5 Litre of Milk=118 5= 590 Rs. .
Times table basically represents that when a number n is added to itself ‘m’ times the result is equal to the number as “n ✖ m”, the repeated addition yields the same result as multiplication. It is shown below in the table.
118 × 1 = 118 | 118 |
118 × 2 = 236 | 118+118=236 |
118 × 3 = 354 | 118+118+118=354 |
118 × 4 = 472 | 118+118+118+118=472 |
118 × 5 = 590 | 118+118+118+118+118=590 |
118 × 6 = 708 | 118+118+118+118+118+118=708 |
118 × 7 = 826 | 118+118+118+118+118+118+118=826 |
118 × 8 = 944 | 118+118+118+118+118+118+118+118=944 |
118 × 9 = 1062 | 118+118+118+118+118+118+118+118+118=1062 |
118 × 10 = 1180 | 118+118+118+118+118+118+118+118+118+118=1180 |
118 | 1 | 118 | |
118 | 2 | 236 | |
118 | 3 | 354 | |
118 | 4 | 472 | |
118 | 5 | 590 | |
118 | 6 | 708 | |
118 | 7 | 826 | |
118 | 8 | 944 | |
118 | 9 | 1062 | |
118 | 10 | 1180 |
The factors of 118 are 1, 2, 59, and 118 itself.
A square of 118 is basically when you multiply the same number twice i.e 118 118
which comes up to,118118= 13924
The sum of digits of the number 118 is equal to (1+1+8=10)
Practice, writing, making calculations, solving problems on a daily basis and regularly keep an eye on all the factors of a particular table you want to learn and memorise it for a longer time you can roam all around and can say aloud repeatedly.
No, 118 is not present in the times' table of 8. As 118 is not divisible by 8.
