The rectangle is a four-sided polygon
A quadrilateral with parallel sides equal and four equal vertices is known as a rectangle. It is also known as an equiangular quadrilateral for this reason.
Rectangles can also be referred to as parallelograms because their opposite sides are equal and parallel.
A rectangle is a flat, two-dimensional form. We may easily depict a rectangle in an XY plane by using the arms of the x- and y-axes to indicate the length and breadth of the rectangle, respectively.
The rectangle's properties are listed below:
There are four vertices and four sides.
Every vertex has an angle of 90 degrees.
Equal and parallel sides are on the opposing sides.
Intersect each other diagonally
The perimeter is double the length plus the width of the object.
The product of its length and breadth determines its area.
It has four right angles and is a parallelogram.
All inner angles added together equal 360 degrees.
The total distance that the rectangle's outside boundary covers is referred to as its perimeter. Its length is expressed in units. The perimeter formula is provided by:
Perimeter, P = (Length + Width)
The area a two-dimensional form occupies in a plane is known as its area. It has a square unit of measurement. As a result, the rectangle's area is the space enclosed by its exterior lines. It is the same as the length times the width calculation.
The following is the rectangle's area formula:
Area, A = 2 (Length * width) sq units.
The diagonals of the rectangle's symmetrical shape are of equal length. The rectangle will be split into two right-angle triangles by a diagonal. As a result, using the Pythagoras Theorem, where the diagonals are thought of as the hypotenuse of the right triangle, we can compute the length of diagonals.
Assume that L and W are the base and perpendicular, respectively, and that D is the hypotenuse. Consequently, the rectangle's diagonal length will be
D = \sqrt{L^{2}+W^{2}}
The most prevalent rectangular-shaped items we see daily include televisions, computer screens, notebooks, mobile phones, CPUs, notice boards, tables, books, mobile phones, walls, magazines, tennis courts, and others.
