Introduction

A computer device is made up of various components that help computers perform any function in an effective way. Components are the primary element of computers. Computers are always one of the most important devices for humans. Now let's discuss the most basic components of the computer.

1. Input Unit

The input unit is one of the main components of a computer that helps it to operate because we know that computers do not react or operate on their own. It always needs a command to perform any function so this input unit helps computers to do so. It makes the connection between the user and the computer so that the user can directly command the computer to perform any function. The input unit also uses some input devices. Now let's talk about some input devices.

  • Mouse: The mouse is the primary input device that helps users to move the cursor to select any command. Mouse connects to the computer by wire or wireless system. There are two buttons and one scrolling wheel present in the mouse.

  • Keyboard: The keyboard is also a very important input device. It has several keys by which we can enter any letter, number, sign and any other information on the computer and it can also be wired and wireless. Users just have to press the key to write any command or anything on the computer.

2. Output Unit

The output unit is also a very important component of the computer. It contains the output device and these devices help us to view and receive information from computer devices. They receive results or information from computers and without it, we cannot see or obtain any information from computers. Now let's talk about some output devices.

  • Monitor: This output device is also called a visual display unit. It is one of the primary output devices. It helps us to digitally view the output on the screen. output can be text, image or video and the output we see on a screen is called soft copy output.

  • Speaker: This output device is also very helpful for us because they are used to receive any sound from a computer system but they are also options because we only need them to listen to something, for example, music.

  • Printer: This is also an optional device, with the help of this we can take a hard copy of our desired output such as any information or document on paper. printers print all the information on paper by taking electronic data from the computer system.

3. Central Processing Unit (CPU)

The Central Processing Unit is a very essential unit for computers. It is also called the brain of the computer because it controls all the operations or functions for all parts of the computer. It is an electronic hardware component. In a central Processing Unit, there are also many units present such as a control unit, memory unit and algorithm logic unit. If we talk about the components of the central processing unit then the control unit and algorithmic logic unit are called components of the CPU because together they both make up the CPU. Now let's talk about these units one by one:

1. Control unit: This unit, controls all the function and operation of a computer, memory, output Input and other devices. It is also helpful to co-ordinate all the computer parts and if we talk about its working then it collects data by using the input unit and then process it, and once the processing is done then it presents the result to the user by using output unit.

2. Memory unit: This unit is a very important part of the computer system. It helps to store instructions and data. It is also very capable of transferring and accepting the information to other units of the computer system with the help of the central Processing Unit. There are two types of memory in the memory unit. The first one is the primary memory unit and the example of the primary memory unit is Random Access Memory and the second is a secondary memory that stores data permanently for further use. Solid-state drives and hard disc drives are one of the best examples of secondary memory.

3. Arithmetic logic unit: when we have to perform any mathematical or logical operation then this arithmetic logic unit helps us. Basically, the arithmetic logic unit handles subtraction, multiplication, division, addition, and operations. And if we talk about its working then it receives data from memory, processes it and stores the information permanently and also displays it through the output device.

Conclusion

Computers always need various components to work. All these components take raw data from the user and then process it and change it into meaningful information and give the desired result to the user. It also helps computers to store data permanently. Without all these components computers are just like a box or nothing else.
