As long as applicants meet the age requirements, there is no limit on the number of tries for BPSC. There can be a maximum of three tries and a maximum age relaxation of five years for government workers who have worked continuously for at least three years. The BPSC CSE is held in the state of Bihar to fill a variety of gazetted positions in the state government, including Deputy Superintendent of Police, Jailer, Block Development Officer (BDO), and others.
The notion of holding competitive tests for the appointment to certain jobs was first discussed in 1853, and a commission to give it structure was founded in 1854 under the direction of Lord Macaulay, according to the history of the Indian Constitution. The Government of India Act of 1935 later created the Federal Public Service Commission and the State Public Service Commissions.
The BPSC was founded on April 1st, 1949, following its separation from the Commission for the States of Orissa and Madhya Pradesh, according to a subsection of section 261 of the Government of India Act 1935, as modified. On January 26, 1950, the Indian Constitution came into effect, giving it legal status.
According to the Indian Constitution's Article 315, it is a constitutional body. With its main office in Ranchi, the Bihar Public Service Commission originally started serving the State of Bihar. On March 1, 1951, the State Government ultimately agreed to move the Commission's administrative centre from Ranchi to Patna. Shri Rajandhari Sinha served as the Bihar Public Service Commission's first chairman. The first Commission Secretary was Shri Radha Krishna Choudhary.
The State Public Service Commissions have the following responsibilities, which are outlined in Articles 320 and 321 of the Indian Constitution:
Recruitment for positions with the State Government through the holding of competitive exams or through interviews.
Advising the State Government on the qualifications of officials for appointment, advancement, and transfer across services.
Providing advice to the State Government on issues involving hiring for various services and positions, as well as the creation and adjustment of hiring rules.
Advising the State Government on all civil service discipline matters.
Providing the State Government with advice regarding the payment of special pensions, the payment of legal costs, etc.
Advising the State Government on any issue that the Commission has been asked to look into by the Governor of Bihar
Typically, this competitive test offered by BPSC has three stages that are completed in order:
Initial Assessment - Objective Nature
Descriptive nature of the main exam
Oral interview
In order to fill Group A, B, and C positions in the Bihar state government, the BPSC holds recruitment tests. The Combined Competitive Exam (CCE) is one of the most renowned and challenging tests available. The BPSC hires roughly 20 positions and services through the CCE.
