Multiplication is one of the basic arithmetic operations. It is just a repeated addition of numbers. Students are taught this basic operation from the primary class itself through a chart or table called Multiplication Table. It is also known as Time Table. It is a table that shows the product of two numbers in proper order.
Multiplication tables help in doing mental arithmetic. Learning this table is very important as it saves time in doing difficult problems. Although multiplication is a form of repeated addition, it is required to memorise this table as it is not possible to get solutions to complex problems easily by doing addition operations.
A few easy methods by which students shall memorise the table is by practising skip counting, writing it daily, and understanding the pattern followed in each table. While multiplying the order of numbers is not important, even if we multiply the first number with the second number or the second number with the first number the answer should always be the same. Here, will discuss in detail Table 65.
Table 65 is a table which shows the multiplication of the natural number 65 with consecutive whole numbers. It is just a repeated addition of the number 65. For example,7 times 65 can be expressed as 65+65+65+65+65+65+65 ⇒ 455. In the same way, the table of 65 can be formed by the continuous addition of 65.
65 |
65 + 65 = 130 |
130 + 65 = 195 |
195 + 65 = 260 |
260 + 65 = 325 |
325 + 65 = 390 |
390 + 65 = 455 |
455 + 65 = 520 |
520 + 65 = 585 |
585 + 65 = 650 |
65 | x | 1 | = | 65 |
65 | x | 2 | = | 130 |
65 | x | 3 | = | 195 |
65 | x | 4 | = | 260 |
65 | x | 5 | = | 325 |
65 | x | 6 | = | 390 |
65 | x | 7 | = | 455 |
65 | x | 8 | = | 520 |
65 | x | 9 | = | 585 |
65 | x | 10 | = | 650 |
65 | x | 11 | 715 |
65 | x | 12 | 780 |
65 | x | 13 | 845 |
65 | x | 14 | 910 |
65 | x | 15 | 975 |
65 | x | 16 | 1040 |
65 | x | 17 | 1105 |
65 | x | 18 | 1170 |
65 | x | 19 | 1235 |
65 | x | 20 | 1300 |
The value in the unit place of each multiple is ‘0’ or ‘5’ for the table of 65
Another way is doing repeated addition. It is easy to get the answer by adding 65 to the previous result and so on..
Another way is to write and learn the table on a regular basis.
Q1. What is the cost of 65 pencils, if each pencil costs $ 5?
Ans. Cost of one Pencil = $5
Cost of 65 Pencils = 65 5
Cost of 65 Pencils = $325
Q2. How many times should we multiply 65 to get 1235
Ans. From the table of 65, It is known that 65 19 = 1235.
Therefore, 65 is to be multiplied by 19 to get 1235.
Q3. Adwaith prepares 3 cakes in a day. How many cakes will be baked in 65 days?
Ans. No.of cakes made in a day = 3
No.of cakes made in 65 days = 65 3
No.of cake baked in 65 days = 195 cakes.
Q4. Find the value of 65 times 13 plus 355.
Ans. From the table of 65,
65 times 13 = 65 13 = 845
65 times 13 added to 355 = 845 + 355
65 times 13 plus 355 = 1200
Q5. Krishna rides a car 65 km per day. How many kilometres will be covered in 14 days?
Ans. Distance covered in one day = 65 km
Distance covered in 14 days = 65 14
Distance covered in 14 days = 910 km.
