Introduction

Multiplication is one of the most basic arithmetic tools which we use in our day-to-day lives, thus, it is very important to learn to multiply at a faster rate, and there can be no better way than to practise the tables of various numbers, to see the different patterns emerging while working with the multiplication of numbers.

Generally, in the table of various numbers, we learn the various whole number multiples of the number, about which we are talking, like here, we will be seeing the table of 30, therefore, we will see its multiples from 1 to 10. By learning tables, one can easily use the multiplication value, without getting bothered about the actual calculation.

Table Of 30:-

In its ‘addition’ form the table of 30 looks as follows

30 = 30

30 + 30 = 60

30 + 30 + 30 = 90

30 + 30 + 30 +30 = 120

30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 = 150

30 + 30 + 30 +30 + 30 + 30 = 180

30 + 30 + 30 +30 + 30 + 30 +30 = 210

30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 = 240

30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 = 270

30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 = 300

The Pattern In Multiplication Of 30:-

As we can see, while doing the multiplication of 30, 30 can be written as 3 x 10, and thus, we can easily derive the table of 30, if we know the table of 10.

Like, we have done in the following table:-

As we can see from the above table, we can easily derive the table of 30 from the table of 10, by simply multiplying each entry in the table of 10 by 3, which makes it much easier to calculate the results of the multiplication table of 30, which can be generalised to give a rule for the multiplication for 30.

Let Us Solve Some Problems Involving Multiples Of 30

  1. 30 x 26.

To solve it, we can simply convert this problem into its equivalent problem which is

3 x 10 x 26, which can be written as 3 x (260), as we can easily use the table of 10 here, as we know that to multiply any number by 10, we just simply have to add one zero behind the number, thus, 26 becomes 260, and now, we can easily multiply it by 3 to get the required answer, which is 780.

  1. 30 x 19.

Which can be written as, 3 x 10 x 19, which transforms into 3 x 190, which will be equal to 570.

  1. 30 x 9.

We can simply see this from the table to get 270.

  1. 30 x 99.

Here, we will see another way, 30 x 99 can be written as 30 x (90 + 9), which can be written as 30 x 90 + 30 x 9 = 30 x 9 x 10 + 30 x 9 = 2700 + 270 = 2970.

As we can see in the above method, we just needed to know about a table of 30 up to 10 times, and how to multiply any number by 10, and that was sufficient to get the result, that we wished.

  1. 30 x 127.

It can be written as 30 x (100 + 20 + 7), which can be further written as 30 x 100 + 30 x 20 + 30 x 7 = 3 x 10 x 100 + 3 x 10 x 20 + 3 x 10 x 7 = 3000 + 600 + 210 = 3810.

From the above solutions, it is pretty much evident that we just need to know about the multiples of 3 and 10, to solve any problem involving the multiple of 30.

Conclusions:-

The complex seeming table of 30, can be made pretty simple by deconstructing its multiples into multiples of 3 and 10, thus, we can easily calculate any multiplication of 30, by just simply following the rules of distributivity of multiplication over addition.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. For what purpose multiplication tables are used?

They are used to be able to quickly calculate the multiplications.

2. Is 30 a composite number or a prime number?

30 is a composite number as it has factors other than 1 and itself.

3. Which numbers table does one need to learn in order to be able to do the multiplications involving the number 30?

One just simply needs to learn the tables of 3 and 10, to be able to perform the multiplications involving the number 30.

4. Write all the prime numbers before 30.

2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, and 29 are the prime numbers before 30.

5. What is 30 x 79?

30 x 79 can be written as 30 x (70 + 9), which can be written as 30 x 70 + 30 x 9, which can again be written as 3 x 10 x 7 x 10 + 3 x 10 x 9, which equals 2100 + 270, which equals 2370.
