Commutative property: It states that when we multiply two numbers, the order has no effect on the product.

The reverse of this is also true

Associative Property: This states that if we multiply three or more numbers one after the other, the order does not matter.
If we have 2, 3, 4 and we jumble and multiply the answer will remain same

\end{aligned}

Distributive property: This states that if you multiply a number by the sum of two numbers, the result is equal to the sum of the products obtained by multiplying that number by those two numbers separately. example,

Here, 8 can also be written as \begin{equation}

3 \times 8=3 \times(6+2)=24

Example 1:
A flower bed in a garden has room for 275 rows of 17 seeds. A flower bed contains how many seeds?
Solution:
Given,
Number of rows = 275
Each row contains 17 seeds.
Total number of seeds in a flower bed \begin{equation}
275 \times 17=4675

Example 2:
The cost of a DVD is Rs. 13. How much should 275 DVDs cost?
Solution:
A DVD costs Rs. 13.00.
Cost of 275 DVDs = ?
