The multiplication of 158 by the subsequent natural numbers is shown in the multiplication table of 158. A multiplication table is a collection of different numbers multiplied by different natural numbers consecutively, typically starting by multiplying the number by 1. In a table, up to ten or twenty multiples are shown. Students can solve mathematical problems much more easily with the aid of tables after memorizing them. In order to create a multiplication table of 158, we must keep adding the number to itself as many times as necessary. For example, if we add the number 158 to itself five times, as in 158+158+158+158+158, the result will be 158\times 5 , which is the number 790.
158+158+158+158+158 =158\times 5 =790
You can see from the example above that there are two ways to get the table of 158, namely by addition and multiplication, respectively. To learn more about the multiplication table of 158, let’s read further.
The table for 158 up to 20 is provided below.
158\times 1=158
158\times 2=316
158\times 3= 474
158\times 4= 632
158\times 5= 790
158\times 6= 948
158\times 7=1106
158\times 8=1264
158\times 9=1422
158\times 10=1580
158\times 11= 1738
158\times 12=1896
158\times 13=2054
158\times 14=2212
158\times 15=2370
158\times 16=2528
158\times 17=2686
158\times 18=2844
158\times 19=3002
158\times 20= 3160
There are many quick tricks available on the market to aid students in memorizing the table. Even though there may not be much shorthand for the multiplication table of 158, there are still two conventional ways to memorize or recall the table. They are as follows:
The traditional and most effective way to memorize the 158-table is to read it aloud or recite it aloud each day. This will help you remember it later on.
You can also use the difference between the two successive multiples to help you remember the table. The difference between the two multiples in the table that are next to one another would be 158. Therefore, the next multiple can be obtained by adding 158 to the previous multiple.
Ques1: What is the value of 158\times 5 + 89?
Ans: The value for the given question will be
158\times 5 + 89
=790+89
=879
Ques2: What will we get after multiplying 50 by 158?
Ans: By multiplying 50 by 158, we will get
158\times 50 = 7900
Que 3: How much should we subtract from 3006 to make it divisible by 158 without leaving any remainder?
Ans: We should subtract 4 from 3006 to make it divisible by 158. After subtracting 4 from 3006, the number will become 3002, which will be divisible by 158.
Ques 4: Nandini has 790 rupees in her pocket. She has to buy pens, which cost 158 rupees each. So how many pens would Nandini be able to buy?
Ans: According to the question,
Amount of rupees Nandini has = Rs 790
Cost of each pen = Rs 158
Therefore, the number of pens that Nandini would buy = 790\div 158
= 5
So, the total number of pens that Nandini would buy is 5.
Ques 5.: Calculate the value of 158\times 6+19-6.
Ans: The value of 158\times 6+19-6 is
158\times 6+19-6
=948+19-6
=948+13
=961

By following the above-mentioned methods, you can learn the table of as many numbers as possible. For example, the table of 200 up to 10 would be as follows;
200\times 1=200
200\times 2=400
200\times 3=600
200\times 4=800
200\times 5=1000
200\times 6=1200
200\times 7=1400
200\times 8=1600
200\times 9=1800
200\times 10=2000
The table can also be learnt by addition method i.e..,
200+0=200
200+200 = 400
200+200+200 = 600
200+200+200+200= 800
200+200+200+200+200=1000
The value of 23 times 158 is,
23\times 158
=3634
No, the number 158 is not divisible by 3 and 7.
The number 2846 is not completely divisible by 158. On dividing the number, it will give 2 as a remainder and 18 as the quotient.
The value of 10+158\times 10- 158\times 4
is
10+158\times 10- 158\times 4
= 10+1580-632
= 1590-632
= 958
The number 158 is composite as it is divisible by 1, 2, and 79.
