In mathematics, multiplication refers to the practice of calculating the product of two or more provided numbers. It is one of the primary arithmetic operations which has high practical usage in day-to-day life. The numbers which are being multiplied are known as factors and the final result obtained after multiplication is called the product. Multiplication can prove to be a simplification tool for day-to-day arithmetic calculations.Multiplication is used in a wide range of practical applications, including in the following examples, When shopping, we can use multiplication to find the total cost of a group of items by multiplying the cost of each item by the number of items we want to purchase, even in finance, we can use multiplication to calculate the total amount of interest we will earn on an investment by multiplying the interest rate by the amount of money we have invested. In order to the multiplication table of 145, we will repeatedly add the even number 145. For example, if 145 is added 8 times, we get
145+145+145+145+145+145+145+145
which is equal to 1152. This can be also written as
145 \times 8 = 1160
Repetitive addition of a particular number can be represented by a multiplication table. To represent the multiplication table or times table for 145 we repeatedly add the number and obtain the final result. The following table represents the repetitive addition and the final results for the composite number 145:
145 \times 1 = 145 | 145 |
145 \times 2 = 290 | 145 + 145 = 290 |
145 \times 3 = 435 | 145 + 145 + 145 = 435 |
145 \times 4 = 580 | 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 = 580 |
145 \times 5 = 725 | 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 = 725 |
145 \times 6 = 870 | 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 = 870 |
145 \times 7 = 1015 | 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 = 1015 |
145 \times 8 = 1160 | 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 = 1160 |
145 \times 9 = 1305 | 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 = 1305 |
145 \times 10 =1450 | 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 + 145 = 1450 |
The following table contains the multiplication of 120 upto 20 times. If observed closely, a pattern can be observed in the 145 multiplication table, whereas 145 is an even number, the final products are also all even numbers.
145 | × | 1 | = | 145 |
145 | × | 2 | = | 290 |
145 | × | 3 | = | 435 |
145 | × | 4 | = | 580 |
145 | × | 5 | = | 725 |
145 | × | 6 | = | 870 |
145 | × | 7 | = | 1015 |
145 | × | 8 | = | 1160 |
145 | × | 9 | = | 1305 |
145 | × | 10 | = | 1450 |
145 | × | 11 | = | 1595 |
145 | × | 12 | = | 1740 |
145 | × | 13 | = | 1885 |
145 | × | 14 | = | 2030 |
145 | × | 15 | = | 2175 |
145 | × | 16 | = | 2320 |
145 | × | 17 | = | 2465 |
145 | × | 18 | = | 2610 |
145 | × | 19 | = | 2755 |
145 | × | 20 | = | 2900 |
Problem 1: What is four times the fourth multiple of 145?
Solution: As per the question, Four times the fourth multiple of 145 is:
= (145 \times 4) \times 4
= 580 \times 4
= 2320
Thus the value of four times the fourth multiple of 145, is 2320
Problem 2: Find the value of 145 \times 8 - 230
Solution: From the table, 145 \times 8 = 1160
= 145 \times 8 - 230
= 1160 - 230
= 930
Thus the value of 145 \times 8 - 230 is, 930
Problem 3: Find the value of (8 \div 4) \times 145.
Solution: By simple division, 8 \div 4 = 2
As per the multiplication table of 145,
= (8 \div 4) \times 145
= 2 \times 145
= 290
Thus the value of (8 \div 4) \times 145 is, 290
Problem 4: Find the value of 145 \times 19
Solution: From the table, 145 \times 19 = 2755
Problem 5: Find the value of 145 \times (10 - 3)
Solution: By simple subtraction, 10 - 3 = 7
From the table
= 145 \times (10 - 3)
= 145 \times 7
= 1015
Thus the value of 145 \times (10 - 3) is, 1015
The factors of 145 are 1,5,29,145 thus 145 has 4 factors.
No, 145 does not divide 1310 fully, thus 1310 is not divisible by 145.
There exist 2 prime factors of 145, which are 1,5.
No it is not important to follow the order in multiplication, two or more numbers can be multiplied in any order and the final result will be the same.
Multiplication table is really helpful in real-life applications such as calculating area or counting multiple items of the same type, even counting the number of rows or columns in a particular table
