The NMMS (National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship) exam for Class 8 students in Maharashtra is conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Educational Research and Training (MSCE). The application form for the exam is available on the official MSCE website. The exam for 2025-26 is scheduled for December 21, 2025. The official answer key will be released after the exam, and the results are expected in February 2026. Students can check the answer key on the official website to estimate their scores and raise any objections if needed.

The NMMS exam in Uttar Pradesh is based on the Class 7 and Class 8 syllabus of school subjects.
The exam has two papers:
MAT (Mental Ability Test) – Questions on reasoning, analogy, classification, series, coding-decoding, hidden figures, pattern perception, logical and non-verbal reasoning.
SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) – Questions from Class 7 & 8 subjects:
Mathematics : Rational numbers, linear equations, geometry, mensuration, data handling, exponents, factorisation etc.
Science : Nutrition, microorganisms, materials, acids and bases, combustion, cell, force, pressure, sound, light etc.
Social Studies : Indian constitution, democracy, judiciary, reforms, colonialism, geography (land, water, resources), economy, industry, human resources etc.
Each paper has 90 questions (total 180), and time given is 90 minutes for each paper . There is no negative marking .
