Nitin Kumar 23rd May, 2024

Yes, you can still fill out the NDA form even if you failed 12th class. The NDA eligibility criteria for educational qualification state that you must have passed a 10+2 exam or equivalent. There is no restriction on the number of attempts you took for 12th board exams.Since you have not passed 12th yet,  mention yourself as a "12th Appearing" student in the application form.

CBSE private students are valid for the NDA exam and most other competitive exams in India. There's no discrimination against private students when it comes to eligibility. The focus is on passing the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) from a recognized board like CBSE.

While you can appear for the NDA with a 12th appearing status, it's crucial to pass your 12th board exams before the SSB interview stage. The SSB interview cannot be attended without a valid 12th pass certificate.Keep in mind the age limit for appearing in the NDA exam. You should be between 16.5 and 19.5 years old when you apply.

As a science student preparing for law entrance exams like CLAT or AILET , focus on areas like English Language , Logical Reasoning , Legal Reasoning , General Knowledge (GK) and Current Affairs , and basic Mathematics (up to Class 10 level). Start by strengthening your reading comprehension, vocabulary, and GK by reading newspapers like The Hindu . Study legal principles, the Indian Constitution, and practice logical puzzles and arithmetic. Use guides like Arihant’s CLAT Book or online platforms for preparation. Regularly take mock tests to improve speed and accuracy. While coaching is optional, it can provide structured guidance if needed. With consistent self-study and practice, you can excel, even without a legal background.

If you are a science student and want to become a lawyer, that's absolutely possible! You don’t need to have studied arts or commerce to enter the field of law. In India, many students from science backgrounds choose law as a career, and they do very well.

Let’s understand how you can go from science in school to studying LLB and becoming a lawyer.

Since you are in Class 12 (or just passed), you can go for a 5 year integrated law course right after school. These courses combine a graduation degree with law. For example:

  1. BA LLB – Bachelor of Arts + Law

  2. BBA LLB – Bachelor of Business Administration + Law

  3. BSc LLB – Bachelor of Science + Law (less common)

To get admission to a good law college, you need to give an entrance exams. Here are some of the most popular ones:

  • CAT
  • AILET
  • SLAT
  • CUET(UG)
  • LSAT-INDIA
  • MH SAT LAW

Start your law entrance preparation along with Class 12 board studies. You can begin with just 1–2 hours a day, focusing on English, current affairs, and reasoning.

Once your boards are over, spend more time doing mock tests, reading newspapers, and practicing previous years’ papers.

GOOD LUCK !

I have secured 82 percent in my cbse 12th boards and 75 percentile in jee mains can i get btech in sasthra in cse ece and it depts

tanvi bansal 21st Jul, 2025

Dear Aspirant,

With 82 percentile marks in your CBSE Class 12 board exams and a 75-percentile score in JEE Mains, you have a fair chance of securing admission into SASTRA University for B.Tech, particularly under Stream 2, which is based solely on Class 12 marks. Admission into the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department at the Thanjavur campus is highly competitive and typically requires a board percentage above 95 percentile, so your chances for CSE in the main campus are relatively low. However, you may have a chance in the later rounds or at the Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre (SRC) in Kumbakonam. For Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), which is slightly less competitive than CSE, your chances are moderate and could improve under Stream 2. Information Technology (IT) is comparatively more accessible, and your profile gives you a realistic chance of getting admission, especially in the second or third rounds of counselling. It is advisable to apply through both admission streams to improve your chances and to consider the SRC campus as well, where the cutoffs tend to be more relaxed.
