With board exams just a few months away, CISCE, has decided to reduce the pass percentage of ICSE and ISC boards though these will be implemented from the year 2019. According to the new regulation, the minimum passing percentage for ICSE exam or Class 10th would be 33% instead of the current 35% and the same for ISC exam or Class 12th Boards exams would be 35% instead of the current 40% currently.
The newly proposed minimum pass percentage for Class 10th and 12th board exams will be applicable from the next academic year i.e. 2018-2019 and would impact the students appearing in the ICSE & ISC March 2019 Board Exams. CISCE has been upfront in addressing unity with other boards in the country: be it for creating awareness on social media education or tightening security measures for the safety of students.
These changes were recommended by the Inter-Board Working Group (IBWG) to bring uniformity in the massing percentage of all boards in India.
In an official letter addressed to the Heads of all Council Affiliated Schools, Chief Executive and Secretary Gerry Arathoon has asked to implement the same pass mark in the Internal examinations also from the academic year 2018-2019 onwards.
Meanwhile, there is a delay in the release of ICSE and ISC Board Exams 2018 date sheet because of elections in some states in the country. CISCE is awaiting information from the Elections Commission after which it will release the same.
