About NSO 2018

Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) conducts the National Science Olympiad (NSO) for class 1 to 12. NSO is an annual scholarship exam that tests students’ scientific reasoning and logical ability. The National Science Olympiad is conducted at two levels-Level 1 and level 2. Class 1 and 2 students have to appear only for the first round while for classes 3 to 12, top 5% candidates from each class and top 25 rank holders from each class and zone will have to sit for level 2 of NSO 2018. The NSO 2018 is scheduled to be held on November 1, 15 and 27. Candidates could register for NSO 2018 by filling the form and submitting it along with the registration fee of Rs.125. Students could collect the SOF NSO registration from their respective schools. They could register only through their respective schools as individual registrations are not accepted. The result will be declared in the last week of December, 2018. Around 10 lakh students register for NSO every year.

NSO 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Students enrolled in classes 1 to 12 are eligible to apply for level 1 of SOF NSO 2018 through their respective years. A student can apply for the exam once a year.

The organising body sends the prospectus of SOF NSO 2018 containing registration forms to all schools registered with SOF. The students' roll numbers will be generated by the coordinating teacher appointed in each school. The schools will then return the duly filled SOF NSO registration forms to SOF along with the application fees within dates specified. They will also send a copy of the roll numbers of students and the school registration form. It is mandatory that at least 10 students are registered from each school for the exam.

NSO 2018 Result

The conducting body will announce SOF NSO 2018 result in the last week of December. Students will be able to check their result by visiting their respective schools or access it online in SOF’s official website. Candidates who are selected will be eligible to sit for level 2 of NSO which will be conducted in January or February 2019.
