About:  National Standard Examination (NSE) 2014 is a national level exam conducted solely by Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT), and is a first stage for INO and International Olympiad. The further stages leading to International Olympiad are conducted by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE).

NSE is the first and most important stage of INO and International Olympiad. It is a preliminary stage and basic eligibility which is necessary for every student to fulfill. The Five stages of the examination are:

 

Stage I: National Standard Examination (NSE)

Stage II: Indian National Olympiad (INO)

Stage III: Orientation cum Selection Camp (OCSC) 

Stage IV: Pre-departure Training Camp (PDT) 

Stage V: Participation in International Olympiad 

 

The five subjects for which National Standard examination (NSE) 2014 conducted are:

National Standard Examination Physics (NSEP)

National Standard Examination Chemistry (NSEC)

National Standard Examination Biology (NSEB)

National Standard Examination Junior Science (NSEJS)

National Standard Examination Astronomy (NSEA)

 

The students as per the subject wise eligibility can apply for an examination in one or more subjects of NSE, which is tentatively conducted in the month of November.

 

National Standard Examination 2014 Eligibility criteria:  The Eligibility Criteria for National Standard Examination 2014 for all the five subjects differ and are as follows.

  1. Physics, Chemistry, Biology (NSEP, NSEC, and NSEB): Indian students born on or after July 1, 1994 and are in class XII or lower are eligible to appear for this admissible stage, and later eligible for INO (physics, chemistry, biology).
  2. Junior Science (NSEJS): Indian students born on or after January 1, 1999 and are in class X or lower are eligible for NSEJS. Once they clear this stage they are eligible for INJSO.
  3. Astronomy (NSEA): All students born on and after January 1, 1995 and are in class XII or lower are eligible to apply for NSEA, once they clear the test they are eligible for INAO.

National Standard Examination 2014 Selection Procedure:  The National Standard Examination is a basic and foremost stage for getting selected for INO and International Olympiad. If a student wishes to enroll into INO and International Olympiad, he/she must fulfill the eligibility criteria for NSE and score a Minimum Admissible Score to clear this test.

 

Once a student fulfills the criteria, they are eligible for the Selection Procedure for National Standard Examination 2014, leading to INO and International Olympiad.

National Standard Examination 2014 Exam pattern: The Exam Pattern for National Standard examination 2014 ismostly similar to the senior secondary level (Class XI and Class XII) of CBSE. Below is a rough guideline for NSE and INO Exam Pattern.

The Exam Pattern for INO and NSE are almost same.

 

National Standard Examination 2014 Important Dates: The Important dates for National Standard Examination 2014 are released in the month of July. The exam is conducted in the month on November each year.

 

Students who qualify NSE are eligible for Indian National Olympiad (INO) examination. After scoring a minimum required score in the INO examination students are selected for Orientation cum Scholarship Camp (OCSC), leading to International Olympiad in each subject.
