Once you know the syllabus, the next step is to know the class 10 exam pattern for science. The question paper is divided into two parts consisting of a total of 27 questions. Section A consist of 21 questions of 1, 2, 3 and 5 marks while section B has 6 questions of two marks each. Physics: Practice as many theorems, formulas, numerical as possible. One can also refer the previous year papers or sample papers for the same. Another important part is the ray diagrams from the light chapter. It is scoring and easy to learn with practice.

Chemistry: This section is the easiest and highest scoring topic in Science. But one needs to be very clear with the concepts. Put a special focus on ‘carbon and its compound’ chapter. Also, practice the numerical and name reactions so that one can solve them accurately in the exam. Make short notes or reminders of formulas along with compound names to revise as and when required.

Biology: This is the theoretical section with lots of terminologies to memorise. One must also practice all the diagrams thoroughly and make notes of terms and their associated functions to learn and revise, especially at the end time. The special focus should be given to life process and its associated chapters.

Exam day preparation tips for CBSE class 10 science:

  • Begin by reading the question paper thoroughly.

  • Answer questions which you know and are comfortable in answering FIRST.

  • Do not spend too much time on one question because you have to attempt 27 questions in three hours.

  • Follow bullets/steps while answering any question.

  • Diagrams should be drawn with a pencil. Do not use a pen.

  • An internal choice will be provided in three questions of 3 marks each, two questions of 5 marks each and one question of 2 marks.

  • 1 mark question needs to be answered in one sentence.

  • 2 marks question needs to be answered in about 30 words.

  • 5 marks question needs to be answered in about 70 words.

  • Do not forget to revise the answers in the end.
