IMO Syllabus 2025 -Students in classes 1 to 12 who plan to take the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) exam must adhere to the IMO 2025 syllabus. The IMO 2025 syllabus outlines the major sections, fundamental concepts, and mark distribution. Students can plan their studies to pass the IMO exam with an understanding of the IMO syllabus 2025.

In the IMO syllabus 2025, the topics and chapters at level I and level II remain the same, while the difficulty level rises. For sets A, B, and C of IMO level 1, the dates are October 22, 2024, November 19, 2024, and December 12, 2024. IMO Syllabus Class 1

The exam consists of 35 questions in total, which candidates must answer in one hour. Only questions from the current class will be asked in the achiever's section. For preparation, students ought to study the Class 1 NCERT textbooks. It is important to clear the IMO Olympiad syllabus at least a month before the exam. IMO Syllabus Class 2

The exam paper will contain a total of 35 questions. There will be an hour-long test. Students can consult the NCERT books for preparation. To better comprehend the IMO syllabus, students should also practise past five-year exam questions. 60% of the Level I questions will come from the Class 2 syllabus, and 40% from the Class 1 syllabus. There will be 35 questions in the examination, for a total score of 40. One hour of time will be allocated for the test. Students can refer to class 3 previous year's exam papers and NCERT textbooks for preparation. 60% of the Level I questions will come from the Class 3 syllabus, and 40% from the Class 2 syllabus. IMO Syllabus Class 5

There will be 50 questions in the exam, which are worth a total of 60 marks. Students must regularly practise problems from NCERT textbooks, previous examinations, and maths and reasoning workbooks in order to succeed on this IMO test. 60% of the level I questions will come from the class 5 syllabus and 40% from the class 4 syllabus. In the Achievers segment, only questions from the class 5 curriculum will be utilised. It is important to cover all important topics of international mathematical olympiad syllabus. 50 questions totaling 60 marks in the Class 8 International Mathematical Olympiad. To prepare for IMO 2023, read and practice from the NCERT Class 8 books as well as the Class 7 textbooks. SOF IMO 2025 Syllabus & Pattern (Level 2)

Students in classes 3 to 12 are the only ones who can apply for the Level II examination. Students who pass the level I test with particular score criteria will be eligible to take the level II exam.

The prerequisites for level II test takers are as follows:

  • Top 5% of each class's students

  • Top 25 zone rank holders and class rank holders

  • Class toppers from each participating school where at least 10 students from a class take the exam obtain the minimum score of 50%

Science olympiad foundation conducts the IMO (International Mathematics Olympiad ) for classes 1 to 12. IMO exam is conducted in 2 levels. Level 1 is for classes 1 to 12 and Level 2 is for classes 3 to 12 who qualify in level 1.

SOF also accepts individual registration. Each student has to pay INR 50 for those who pay individually.

  • They conducted the exam in an online mode for 1 hr.
  • IMO level 1 (set A) will conduct on 4th and 5th of December,2021.
  • IMO level 1 (set B) will conduct on the 24th and 26th of December, 2021
  • IMO level 1 (set C) will conduct on the 8th and 9th of January, 2022.
  • IMO level 2 will conduct in January 2022

There is only one mode to apply for the IMO exam 2021 i.e. Offline.  You have to contact your school authorities for IMO Forms, if your school is registered with IMO then the forms may have already arrived.

It must be remembered that no student can apply for the IMO 2021 registration independently. SOF will not accept any application form directly from students. Students should contact their respective schools for their registration.
